We just adopted these two girls, and we were curious if they we Buff Orpingtons. They look a little lighter than our BO Rooster...

No, not Buff Orpingtons. Their color is too red, and the legs are the wrong color -- BO's have white skin and legs. They are also not built like Buff Orpingtons. Don't know what they are, though, with that combination of feather color and skin color.

I totally agree with Freeholder. The legs are greenish instead of white, they are very dark, and not big and fluffy like BO's They are mixes. I also see something different in the feather pattern on the breast of the bottom pic.

They kinda look like New Hampshire chickens. Here's a picture of a younger Hampshire:

They look alike to me, the legs might be a little darker as they age or at least with my neighbors' birds.

OK, I realized the pictures I took dosen't do these two beautiful girls justice. So I took some new pics... I think these are much better to show how light their feathers are. They really don't have red in them. Hopefully this will help... Thanks for all the input!

Okay, that's better! Yes, I do think they're Buff Orps. The leg color looks right in the new pics.

Maybe the lighting in the first pics was just weird. They are not the best quality, too narrow bodied, but still BOs, I'd say.
