Thks AlienChick...I am quite happy with how it turned out, I just hope the Birds like it as well...lol

Thks Chillin...ya predators could be a problem with wire, but this is in an enclosed porch so, no prob there. Still If I build another one for outdoors I will consider that...smiles...

its very nice, but i think they need bigger cage to run around and dust bath like chickens

Cots only need 1 square foot per bird. (remembering to factor in the space the water and feeder takes) People can and do put dust bath containers in the pens so they still get access to do feather/skin maintenance. a little DE in the sand media will go along way to the health of the birds. If you look close you will see the dust bath in this pic Left center.

I am a ground breeder, although I do have a few cages for projects, looking at the size of his cage and I'm only counting 6 bet he's fine.

There are 4 girls and 1 male per cage, each cage is 2-1/2 ft by 2ft by 2ft high, there is lots of room and these birds are doing fine, also they will be killed for meat with in the first 6 months of there lives..no probs with health, or skin, feathers etc...they aren't around long enough to get any problems arizing from any reasons..they also don't get wormer or meds of any kind...saves on costs and I get eggs from each bird every day or thy get culled early. I don't give then dust baths or any thing either, they don't need it and it's another cost not needed...If I was to have any birds for pets things would be different but these are all for meat and eggs only....
