We had gone to a farm in SD to get some Sicilian Butter Cup chickens. When we arrived, I was horrified at the condition of the rooster. He had very long and twisted toe nails.
...now for the biggest surprise. His spurs were terrifyingly long!
After Sawing the spurs off, He finally was able to walk normally. We left the spurs at about an inch long. We also clipped the long toe nails.
He was much happier.
After three weeks of owning Red, he started getting tired and less out going. He looked a little depressed. He became weaker everyday. One day, I found him dead.
RIP Red. You were a sweet rooster.
