They have only been outside for 5 days. I didn't notice anything before they went out. I think about 3 of them have this out of 30. 1 is missing a lot of feathers on her neck. They are protected by a 4' tall electric fence and pallets. The roof is covered. Im just not sure what this could be. They all seem fine, but just a couple have these sores. They all appear to be in the same spot. Some have them on both sides at the same location. These birds are organic so I need all suggestions to be within my means. I'm keeping an eye on them. I saw this yesterday, and not much has changed since then. last weekend they were in my basement in a deep litter. I just don't know what they got into while outside for 4 days that would cause this. The land I put them on was just leaves and sticks. I'm in New Hampshire. They went from 65 degrees to 30's-40's. Sometime the temps dropped below 30. They are 3 months old. They are isa browns.

I suspect that some of them are pecking at something and rubbing on a sharp edge somehow. (I hope you understand what I mean.) Maybe they are reaching for some leaves or grass and their necks are rubbing to the point of being raw.

Look around for sharp edges, or just watch those hens to see what they're up to. That's what I would do first......

It could also be another chicken doing that to them....

I did see some of them poking their heads out of the pallets. There are only a few areas where they can do this. I have them in a temporary housing until I butcher the other birds in the other coop. I'm hopping its just a case of rubbing and not a disease.
