I am going to go pick out two Blue Andalusians this afternoon. I think I might need help with choosing coloring that they will grow into. I want ones that are truly blue.

Here is a picture that was posted on CL. Can anyone tell me what marking I am looking for? Will a Blue Andalusian roo have a huge comb like the two roos in this picture? Although the roos are beautiful, I am unable to keep them and want two pullets.

I'm not sure all the birds in that picture are Andalusians. They will hatch out with Blue, Black, or Splash coloring. The splash I believe hatch out looking white. I think they all should have slate-colored legs. So the bird in the foreground looks blue. Some of them look to have some yellow or red, which should not be there. Sorry, can't help with the sexing at this age!

The ones in the background are not Blues. They were part of a 4H project. There are many mixed breeds. But the Blues are supposedly pure. I just want a couple of good looking blue hens.

OK... that makes sense! If they are blue now, they should be blue when they mature. As far as picking quality birds at this age, I have no idea. I've had several BAs but all were from hatcheries. All of them were gorgeous as full-grown birds.
