Eedie's first egg
Thank you!That is GORGEOUS!!!!
I should note, these pics of the girls are old...they both have huge red combs right nowSomeone said I should repost this here so here you go!!!!! My first EE egg!!!!!! Isnt it a beauty!!!!!!!!
Not sure which girl laid it but I know it is one of two. Either this one...
or this one.....
The only reason I say that is because I checked for eggs (none) and was cleaning out the poop board tray... these two would not stay out of the coop. After I finished and went to rake out the run, they stayed in there. Then I went immediately to clean/ freshen the nesting boxes and the egg was there, still steaming hot
I got my girls from a local breeder/Backyard chicken keeper. Her 12 yr old daughter breeds and raises them as a 4H project. She had beautiful bird and showed me the shells which were gorgeous...though I knew that may have nothing to do with the egg color they will lay, but I was hopeful
They are both 24 weeks 3 days old...hoping they all start soon, I could get used to this color

Do your girls have pea combs? From what I've been told - 95% of pea combed EEs lay a blue or green egg. 95% of single combed EEs lay a brown/pink egg.My two EE are laying light cream colored eggs 'sigh'. If you could see me through the computer, you would see I'm green with envy. They are beautiful.
Absolutely gorgeous! Crossing my fingers that one of my ten lays a color as brilliant blue as yours. But I wouldn't mind a bright green, either. Oh who am I kidding, I'm excited for any color - but really pretty eggs you have there!
Guess I should have read the previous posts!Do your girls have pea combs? From what I've been told - 95% of pea combed EEs lay a blue or green egg. 95% of single combed EEs lay a brown/pink egg.
I'm sorry to hear that! My NN cross Ameraucana (therefore EE) started laying yesterday, and the eggs are a very nice green!
