Hi, I'm semi-new to BYC. I've had my Flock for just about a year with no serious problems. But things happen.

My Game fowl hen became broody in April and had six healthy chicks. About a week ago one of my roosters got in with the hen, and I assume that he trampled on one of the chicks.

At first the chick wouldn't eat or drink for a few days, and couldn't stand up or even move her legs. I couldn't post earlier but now she's doing better. Except that she now has a crooked neck and she stumbles when she walks. At least she eats and drinks on her own now, but I wanted to know if there is anything I could to help her out with her neck. I appreciate any help I can get.

The chicken with the broken toe happens to be the same Game fowl hen, this very chick's mom. I noticed this afternoon that she was limping when she walked. When I picked her up I saw that her middle toe was broken and had a black spot discoloration and this worries me. I think she must of caught it a wire or something. Should I take her to the Vet, or let it heal with a splint? Please help.

Here's some photos of the chick, but she's sleepy right now. I'll post photos of her and the Game fowl hen tomorrow. Thank you so much for your time and advice.

Wow. That looks rough. I'm not sure what I would do with the chick. Maybe not sure that's a problem that can be fixed.

Oh boy. You really think so? Can't be fixed? At least she can eat, drink and kind of walk. I sure hope for a solution. Thanks for the reply!

I would think you could keep it alive I would you give it ore try consistent one on one care. I don't see that one getting food or water if there are other chickens around...but stranger things have happened. But a crooked toe is no problem, yeah it looks weird but they can scratch and peck and all the normal chicken stuff without the other chickens picking on them..but a crooked neck I would think would continue to pose a problem

Yes I'm giving her one on one care. I keep her separated from the other chickens. Only let her be with one the chicks during the day for company.

I'm hoping that in time she gets better and her neck gets straighter.

Hi. Here are some photos and videos of the little chick's neck, and the Game fowl hen's broken middle toe. The chick is doing better, as you can see in the video. But it's her neck I'm concerned about. But what should I do about the hen? I appreciate your help and concern guys. Thanks.

Hey guys, I tried to post the videos. But it said that it had to go through a moderator first. Is that supposed to happen? Here are the pictures of the hen's toes. Is it really bad? What should I do? I Appreciate your help and concern. Thanks.

For the videos you can copy/paste this on your browser to see it on youtube.
