Hello I live in northern Wisconsin and the farm I was going to order from just had gold star chickens until spring just wondering if I got them next week if they would be able to survive the harsh winters, and if they would get there winter feathers in time to move into the coop with the 3 big girls?
I was planning on getting 4 more
any replies will be greatly appreciated

Pullets are fully feathered and able to take whatever an adult takes by 2 to 3 months old. I've read that they have their final molt at around 5 months old. Yours should be good to go by the time the really bad weather hits.

allright thanks do you think that they would be pecked by the other chickens in the winter because of being cooped up to long

The pullets should be integrated in with the older chickens at around 3 months old. Some people will integrate them earlier than that. That way the pecking order will be established long before being confined in the coop. I've found that once a pullet starts laying eggs she is more apt to be 'friends' with the older hens.

I suggest you go to the learning center here and read on integrating your girls. I went through hell trying to integrate. I had to divide my coop in half, and keep them completely separate for weeks but they were side by side where they could see each other and get to know it each other and still when I lifted all the barriers they still had to go through the pecking order it was awful. Good luck to you!
