I’ve been having issues with quitters in my hen’s eggs for a third time now.
We have a mixed flock with bantam Barnevelders and a Belgian chicken breed, our rooster is from the bantams.
When my barnevelder became broody on eggs from both breeds, they all developed very well.

Hi. This is my first time incubating eggs. I am using a cheap chinese incubator, and thus the temps are not very uniform and I expect the mortality rate to be quite high. I am wondering, is this a blood ring? Should I discard this egg?
We set 30 eggs, 6 of our own khakis, and 24 purchased from a breeder to expand our flock and get some new types of duck breeds! I fully realize it was an early start, before hatching season is in full swing, but compared to past experiences, I'm having a terrible go of it this time! Only 12 eggs...
Hi, I’m just after some advice.
Iv recently had 3 duck eggs, the first egg had been incubating 3 days head of the other 2, so 2 of the 3 started progressing really well the 3rd just never did anything so I removed that from the incubator, other 2 eggs were developing well could see the chicks...
Day 13 for my incubation. This little one didn’t have any visible movement. My others did. I can’t tell if I’m seeing veins or a blood ring. Most likely I will wait till hatching day but curious to see what others think.
