Anyone tried using something to mimic a mother hen? Like a tea cozy?

I was thinking about trying to use tea cozy and heat pad for a small batch of chicks.
Anyone ever tied that before? I wonder if they would snuggle up under it?

I've used stuffed animals and feather dusters before. The chicks seemed to like the feather duster better. I really want a Brisnea Ecoglow. The chicks cuddle under it like a hen, can be on a more natural daylight cycle sooner and no heat lamp to mess with!

We have a huge beanie baby of *ahem* a baby chick that we use to keep the chicks company and someplace to cuddle. They seem to like it a lot
