I‘m hoping someone who knows more about chicken genetics can tell me, why are there 2 blond chicks in this hatch, with only 4 toes? they were not expected.
the Faverolles are not from a hatchery, they are from a show breeder.

4 pure Australorps, all have 4 toes. They have yellow butts and throats.
2 blond fav crosses, both have 4 toes.
The 8 fav crosses instead of having yellow on their throats and butts have varying shades of grey where the yellow should be and they all have 5 toes
