My 3 girls have been on egg strike (not laying since Oct/Dec) so I'm picking up eggs from another backyard flock today. These are for consumption. My dog and chickens will eat some cooked eggs too.

Of course I'll wash the outside of the eggs and handle properly when we eat it. But are their other concerns, diseases, etc. I need to be worried about eating eggs that are not pasterized/controlled like store-bought eggs or my own flock whose health I can guarantee?

There are a few disease that are transferable to the eggs but I dont know if something can get the disease by eating the eggs. As long as they're properly cooked, I wouldn't be concerned.
