may i ask you please, for future reference in how high a future bucket has to be to avoid that, (how many feet/inches or centimeters up was the top of your bucket? how much higher do you think it should have to be next time? ) i wonder if the adults can even reach the water if it’s up high enough to prevent? it’s quite the predicament - and apparently happens to a lot of us

So sorry for what you’re going through it really is tough, if it’s any comfort I have a friend who’s gosling was born with bad sight issues but is doing wonderfully now. Also when it comes to water containers on a night I use a fairly small circular plastic tub that’s maybe about 4-5 inches tall, I’ve seen the goslings fall in it before and get out easily and it’s enough for them all to dip their beaks into through the night
