Any thoughts on if this is canker or thrush?

She has been eating and drinking normally. A few days ago she was very sleepy and has been puffed up frequently but other than that she’s been acting normal. I noticed these spots at the corner of her beak the day she was sleepy (and therefore standing abnormally stationary). Once looking in her mouth I found these spots…they seem more white than yellow to me. She also had some fishy smelling breath.

Canker, a disease carried by pigeons, is said to smell rotten. The lesions outside of the beak resemble pictures of canker. The best way to find out what it is would be to ask your vet to let you bring in some of the material to look at under a microscope. It is a protozoa, where yeast/thrush is a fungus. I would cull any chicken I had with possible canker, and then ask the state vet to do testing and a necropsy. It can spread to the rest of the flock, so separating the sick bird, and then disinfecting the feeders and waterers would be important.
