Central Florida Coop and Run (in progress)

More progress, and we finally have chicks. I shared my home office with them for a week, then they went into the coop brooder. They outgrew the brooder this weekend and are confined to the coop itself.

Run roof and electrical are connected (lights, GCFI outlet, etc).

Next weekend they will get to venture into the run and I can install the thermostatically controlled attic ventilation fan on the wall and automatic coop door.

Finally got the thermostatically controlled attic vent fan installed and the auto chicken door (went with a different one due to clearance issues with the shutter).

This has been some project - weekends mostly. New respect and admiration for those who can knock something like this out in a few weekends.

Wife’s chickens are doing well, haven’t seen any signs of predators trying to get in (yet).

This is a great forum, lots of info and ideas!

Such a great job, looks pretty bomber. Love that it's walk in, I really can't imagine keeping a non-walk in coop clean, you're going to be thankful you did that and many other things, there is alot going on! I too wouldn't know how people knock it out in days or just a few weekends as it's taken me about 20 years!
