Concrete Run

We have a large concrete slab and the location would be great for our duck coop and run (we have 6 ducks). I know concrete is bad for their feet, but is there any type of mat or base layer we could put down so we can have the run and coop on top of the concrete? Or would finding a grass area be easier?
