Sunday, May 5th 2024 Update

It has been about a week and a half since I added the chicks under Copper, the mother hen. The two chicks she accepted, the two Lavender Wyandottes, are both doing well. Copper has been teaching them skills like how to break bigger pieces of food for them to eat and teaching them what they can eat.

The two Wyandottes are named Lavender and Lilac.

Copper and her two chicks have taken to eating in the caged area I had them closed in for the first two days. They see it as a safe spot I believe. I have not come out at night lately to see if they still sleep there. I think I will tonight.

As for the two White Sport Legbars that she rejected, they are both doing well and growing alot faster than the two Wyandottes. They are being raised with 17 chicks I hatched that I intend on selling (Not selling the Legbars.) One is named Robin because they will be laying blue eggs. Still have no name for the other Legbar.

The last picture is of the teo legbars. You can see the difference in feather growth compared to the Wyandottes.

Any name suggestions for the second Legbar?
