Hi! Just wanted to give my experience in using socks as diapers!
So far I've been using them when the duckling turned about 13 days old. I use the ankle socks that have stretched out rims. When they were too lose I would just use a safety pin to make it tighter so it wouldn't fall down.
And I would cut panty liners in half to place at the bottom inside.
I'm a size 7 if that matters haha

Socks became too short in length so now the ankle part wraps around the body under the wings
When my duckling was around a week old and under I didn't have thoughts of making diapers but I would think infant socks would work well.
