Seven weeks old! The nicest chicken you could ever meet. I'm pretty sure he's a he, since he's my only chicken with wattles. And I know it's not a full-body shot, but do you think it's a Buff Orpington roo??

Yup...It's a James at that age....

Well, I'm going to try to keep him. Already he's acting protectively to the hens -- at night I'll see him standing in front while they're all snuggled into the corner. So sweet!

Also it would be great to have little half-Orp chicks running around...

We'll just wait and see how irritating the crowing turns out to be.
