I finally found the perfect rooster, my past few roosters either turned out to be agressive or got into a fight with my moms dog and ended up getting eaten, my silkie rooster passed from anemia from lice from a Pavlovskaya pullet I bought. but I found the perfect rooster. He’s a 11 months old Light Brahma and I’ve named him Baymax! He’s met everyone, he’s very nice to the children around the house and able to keep all my ladies in line (for now, I’ll have more but I have young roosters that will help with that when they mature). Even the dogs get along with him, he met the dog who previously ate one of my roosters and she got up in his business sniffing and he stays perfectly calm and continues eating with no problem, my dog (who is a little shorter then him) is VERY confused by him, like she knows he’s a chicken but is confused by his size. His crow is absolutely gorgeous and he isn’t all jumpy around people, he keeps my worst hens in place. Best part is, he was free! Was quite a ways away but he was completely free due to him being an accidental rooster.
My two cockerels that I am keeping are a Buff Brahma named Cheshire, (50/50 with him, I’m almost positive he’s a he but he has a small chance of being a she) and a Swedish flower named Biscotti and oh my goodness Biscotti is so sweet, he’s even going through rooster puberty right now but lovesssss having his neck and chin pet, he falls asleep when he gets loves and will follow me everywhere, I really hope he stays friendly
