Hello! I am getting some meat chicks and some egg chicks this spring - about a dozen of each. I am new to this and have been unable to find a clear cut answer anywhere - do I have to keep them separated from each other? Thank you!

No, I don't see any reason to keep them seperated. Unless you get the really slow cornishXwhite rock mixes. Because they wouldn't be able to compete for food. Possibly keep them together (make sure they have plenty of room) and feed them seperately, making sure each kind gets enough food. That should work.

I have kept large breed chicks and egg layers together but I've never raised broilers. I think if you are raising broilers you'd need to keep them seperate because of bullying/food issues with the broilers growing so much faster.
