Pop door size (dogproof)

We're finishing our coop and now we have to decide how big the pop door should be. There wouldn't be a problem but our german sheppard loves food. Any food. Even chicken food What door should be ok for my Australorps to get through and small enough to stop my dog (she's quite fat )? I was thinking 8" wide

If you go with 8" wide and 10-12" high that should be big enough for the birds and to small for the dog.
