Can cross birds be shown? Because I have a rhode island red/ameraucana cross chicken that I would like to show next year.

At most shows, you cannot show cross bred chickens. They are for purebred birds bred to the American Poultry Association Standard of Perfection. A judge cannot judge a crossbred bird, as he has no standard to go by and won't know what it is supposed to look like.

However, at some county fairs/local 4-H shows, you can show crossbreds. They may have a special "Any Crossbred Egg Type" class, or a "Any Crossbred Meat Type" class. In these classes, they are judged on condition, and on egg/meat productivity.
