Red Star (RSL) Pullets with different combs?

Is it possible for two Red Star Pullets to have different combs? Is it part of being mix breeds or is one of my chicks not a Red Star?



My chick on the left appears to have a nice single comb, she is bigger than her sister (they came from the same red pullet bin at TSC the same day from same shipment). The chick on the right is smaller and doesn't seem to have a comb at all!

*sigh* ok. I didn't notice it when I purchased them, but I went away for two days and it just seems to stand out so much today.

It would be far better to start your own thread, rather than tagging onto an older thread.

But, since you asked, it is indeed a cockerel. 8 week old pullets don't have combs and wattles like that.
