that would be a magpie! magpies colors are symmetrical anconas are not (not saying one duckling out of 10 may get lucky)

your going to love it! magpies and ancona both are the sweetest ducks! my personal favorites. there quiet there not very timid. and nice on the eyes. and good egg layers.

Do apple yards have black and orange legs & feet and spotted bills like this guy has?

Appleyard would have a distinct head mohawk mark, this duckling is not an appleyard or appleyard mix. It is likely a magpie or ancona or similar mix. The heavy saddle across the back makes me lean towards magpie.
