I am setting 24 Catdance silkie eggs today! I got my incubator on Craigslist (amazing deal might I add) and got the itch! Feel free to join because this is my first hatch and I'm sure I could use all the help I can get.
Using shipped eggs and read up on what I needed to do, if anything, because of the extra handling. Had her put a heating pack in the box because we were having an ice storm that week (NWI Indiana) and the day of shipping, mid Jan., It was 40* followed by a 60* day. Hoping the extra heat didn't affect anything but hoping it helped during transport from WA to IN. After unwrapping the eggs, I was pleasantly surprised with many extras, no broken or cracked eggs, and only one detached air cell! I was prepared to not put the incubator on the automatic turner, if the air cells were detached, but because only one was detached I didn't change anything.
Temp is running steady @99.5-100 and humidity is @45%
