The adventure begins

You won't get the lacing back until the 2nd gen. At lest not like that. I think she is Partridge as a base. I believe she is what you would call silver penciled. So first generation would be black and you would take a black son and breed him back to mom for a catch of getting more penciled birds. Only the females look like that the males are the duckwing pattern.

You still might not get it again.
Thanks so much for that info! I probably would've been scratching my head upon seeing it (and probably still will LOL). I thought she looked like a Silver penciled Wyandotte. That's actually how I found out the Cinnamon Queens were originally created using an RIR x SLW, instead of the now more common cross of RIR x NHWhite (or similar). I want to retain her lacing so bad, along with the MB & Peacomb. I'm pretty positive I've found my next rabbit hole & this project just got bumped WAY up on my list :)) I'm facing 9 different roosters right now, so I've got options 🤣😂🤣

Just out of curiosity, if I crossed her with her brother who is a paint would I have better luck of hatching more of her or would the dominant white win out? Just asking since he's from the same Cinnamon hen (and the only roo we hatched from her out of 17 chicks!!)

Dom white will win out. Pattern will be nearly invisible.

Pictures for reference. She is out of a Chamois Spitzhauben and a golden Phoenix. So she has a somewhat duckwing pattern with some spangled on the chest. Chamois Spitzhauben are dom white on gold spangled Spitzhauben.

She has bumbles on both feet and a canker on the side of her beak/mouth. One of the bumbles was at the top of her foot so I had to cut it out. It's all getting better in only 3 days of being in the house.

King showing one of his girls a good place to lay eggs. He was purring at her so hard. 😆.

Whoa....she is Gorgeous!! 😍

Thank you for that info. I figured as much, but it was worth a shot. She is our very first laced bird, totally unexpected & now we're hooked! We're going to try to hatch more of her from the parents we have come spring. I can't stand the yellow legs, but I'm already considering purchasing some Silver Penciled Wyandottes to achieve my goals if it comes down to it 🤣
Lots of reading time coming up...perfect!! Thanks again!

Yeah i don't like yellow legs either. My fave are the blue slate or black but white or pearl are nice too.

Since her brother is paint, only half of his offspring will be dominant white.

I really need to do a daily post on this. Maybe take a page out of @pipdzipdnreadytogo book and try to do some pictures every day as well.

As of now a have an over crowded indoor brooder due to current temperatures and the fact the lady couldn't pick up the chicks on Sunday. I'll be holding them for her till after the freez.

...This is quite late after your tag, but I'd love to see more pictures of your beautiful flock! :love
With what i've been going through I've not even started LOL. I will thou. This Monday after all the ones are gone that I had to sell or give away. I really cant wait for the Silver Ameraucana eggs to get here!
