Poor Amalthea didn't want to keep her bad foot in the salty water tonight. I disturbed the plaque before soaking her foot, so I'm sure the epsom salts stung.

When I walked to the other side of the room to grab a pair of gloves she decided she was done with the foot soak and hopped onto the sink. And dropped a big poop on my bathroom floor.

What, you haven't trained her to use the toilet?! I'm shocked! 🤣
Hey, she didn't want to dirty up the bath water... 😁

I mean, my bathroom floor is the cleanest it's ever been since we started treating her bumblefoot. Usually she poops while I have her wrapped in the towel and then I'm the idiot that accidentally spreads it on the floor. I've started leaving her wrapped in the towel until we get back out to the coop. It helped keep the poop off my floor one night.

Went out to take care of the girls this morning and there was ice in the waterer. Time to winterize! We dropped a small tank de-icer in the waterer.

Last year Limu and (I think) Paprika had just a touch of frostbite on their combs. Not much, just the very tip on one or two points, but enough that I really wanted to wrap the run in plastic this year. And tomorrow the forecast is calling for our first winter storm. So today was a perfect day to wrap the run with 4mil outdoor plastic.

I let the girls out for a little garden time while I worked on the run. At one point I turned around just in time to see Paprika streak by screaming followed by Sven, my German shepherd dog. Limu was also on the  wrong side of the garden fence. Thankfully everyone else had the good sense to retreat to the run, so I only had two wayward hens to round up. After that adventure we decided it would be best if garden time was over for the day.

I didn't get a chance to take any pictures today, but I never posted thes from two weeks ago, so here's the photo tax. Amalthea's feet are looking really good, we're going several days between bandage changes now.
