What should I consider for my next breeds?

Ooh! Tell me more! We’ve been looking at Speckled Sussex and love what we are hearing. I’ve never heard of light or coronation Sussex!
Here's what they look like, the lights are the ones with black and the coronations the ones with grey!
Excuse the comb on the rooster, he had slight accident with it, and the poor chap lost a bit of it.
Mine are still quite young, but they started laying late last winter, and have laid all through this winter.
They did stop to go broody a fair bit, and made excellent mothers. However this varies quite a bit depending on where you get them from, I believe.

I love Ameraucanas! True Ameraucanas (not EE) are a healthy hardy breed, i'm not sure if they're considered heritage birds or not though as they're somewhat newer (accepted in the 70's-80's). Mine is an absolute sweetheart and gets on well in a mixed flock of larger standards like Orpingtons as well as bantams. A bonus is that they lay gorgeous blue eggs!
