Our girls recently started laying so we will be getting 6 eggs a day now. How are people storing their eggs on the countertop to make sure that you use the oldest eggs first? I originally wanted a cute chicken wire basket but digging to the bottom to get the oldest eggs isn't practical... I've...
Hey everyone,
For the life of me I can't figure out why my 6 hens haven't started laying yet. 2 are a little younger than the other four, but still no eggs. My only thought is that they are still too young (and unfortunately I do not know their exact age) but I am surprised to not even see the...
Thanks, Jetdog :) We bring the food in every night so we don't lose any to critters, so if bad weather is coming I could definately put them under the coop! Now if I can just figure out how a couple of the girls are escaping........

It's all about training...
Hi Finnfur,
Thank you for the info. I'm not sure what to do about the fencing. Do you guys have a lot of bird of prey out here? it is a treed area and so not very open to a bird's eye view, so not sure if I could just make the fence taller and go with that.
I have had RIR, Stars, Wyandottes...
