i redid my roosts yesterday in preperations for winter. i found my younger light brahma not wanting to jump off this am, and the older one was already off. but the older one slept above the ladder of roosts she slept without being over the roost ladder.
i haven't regreted it. lol. and now im trying to make a semi temporary fence to make the run bigger during the winter since my chickens are used to running wild so far. Going big is so worth it.
That's good. She should hopefully be up and running good as new soon. My rooster was in his first battle and he wasn't even acting weird after. Only reason I knew he fought something off is the pile of feathers and his naked spot.
I have a barred rock that got its wing chewed to a stump, got some advice here. i removed the stumped and she healed up just fine. If the wing can now be moved on your bird id just keep treating her for shock and eventually get her back with the other ladies. You might need to adjust the roosts...
