Well that explains why mine keeps jumping on top nesting box roof sqwaking 🤣. We eventually put a nesting box on the roof & now she lays there(the sister, I have 2) One of them sounds like a duck😅
The bully is relentless but was our sick baby runt so we love her. We did indeed just add alternate nesting box. We now have 5 boxes for 5 chickens🤣. She actually laid one today. Idk of I helped but when she went in the coop squaking I gave her lots of verbal encouragement. 🤷♀️
I have a Wyandotte who got her neck feathers plucked by Barred Rock bully. She stopped laying for about 2 weeks but continued to be noisy like she does before laying. So I soaked her in warm water with Epsom salt, dried her off and bam, she laid for 5 days. Now she has stopped again but is...
I will. I just grabbed her and I don't see any on her. I see quite a few new feathers I guess? Kinda looks like porcupine spikes. Also I did hear a little more gurgle but nothing like before. And an occasional cough I guess...it's not a sneeze, I've heard those. I'll check the roost after dark...
I keep the coop cleaned. I even rake out poop from the run daily or every other day
We did just have 3 windy (very) cooler days & nights here in San Antonio
She no longer sounds gurgly after 1 dose of colloidal Silver & 1drop Vetrx oral, also applied to comb & waddles. Weird? Or have I caught it really early? She's out foraging now.

No mucus or eye bubbles she sounds gurgly, and that started today. But before that I noticed she was sitting separately , with the others sitting near her for a few hours mid day.
Wow!!! I ordered the med on the link. Thank you so much. I'm going to stop the auto delivery of meal worms. I tried to take over giving only a handful per day when I realized he was giving 5 hens 3 cups a day!!! And yes they seem underweight to me
Just thought I would try colloidal Silver first. It helped one last year with breathing problem but this sounds different. The other was hoarse. This is absolutely a gurgle
