7 today! Our broody girl Lua came out and enjoyed some dust bathing with the rest of the girls! About time! That is Lua on the left.

7 today. Lua still is broody. Was sitting on 5 eggs when I got her off the eggs.

5 yesterday! I think Lua is getting broody as she was laying in the eggs and got incredibly upset when gently nudged her to get the eggs. She squawked so the world knew of the tragedy and went back in the hen house. Not sure what to do with her, but she is a nice girl.

Yes! I was a city kid and never were around chickens before. I just love them!

Didn’t post yesterday cause we went to a family gathering which was amazing! This afternoon, I went down to give the ladies feed. 16 eggs were in the box with Lua laying on them. I gently pushed her off and she squawked for about 5 minutes at the top of her lungs, the tragedy that she endured...

Thank you for your help! It was indeed very scary. My wife renamed her “Henny” today. I walked out to check on her and my wife was in the back yard with her “worming”. I had made her an egg with cyan pepper and oregano and had brought it out to make sure she ate. Well she ate the night...

So just got off the phone with the vet. Still no amoxicillin, they are vapor locked on how long to avoid eggs and meat. Meanwhile, my chicken is in quarantine. She seems to be more upset than sick at this point. She still has a hoarseness about her, but isn’t gasping for air nor cyanotic...
