:D there are 11 hens, about 9 weeks old this week. The shed is 8x6, and the run will be 6×20.I'd like food and treat storage In the shed, but no plans to add a chair, pictures, sound system 🎶- sHE Shed niceties. Should also add a light.

Based on what I've learned here (thank you all for the education) converting a wood shed, which will be here in less than 2 weeks!
Windows, vents, hardware cloth, etc all set. Roosting area, nesting boxes, solar fans, check! I have seen varying opinions on flooring (vinyl but avoid...
We are considering purchasing a TuffShed from HomeDepot and converting it to a coop. We aren't the builder types, though I'd love to take a few weeks off work and try it. We were going to have a window on either side and add vents on the back. Sound like a solid plan or totally crazy?
How wonderful! They certainly look to be enjoying themselves. Love all the little touches you added for them- mirror, stump, etc. Ours have only been out since Thursday night...I miss them but love how they enjoy the outdoors full time.
I do, it's a covered play pen, but the girls and I are ready for them to transition. Their new home isn't ready yet. Chicken math hit us on the first batch heehee. This is their outdoor space for now.
Our girls have been enjoying little excursions to the run as field trips. It's been stormy, so they haven't been out for a couple of days and are oh-so restless. Thoughts on letting 6 week old girls (mostly feathered, but still a little fuzz) out in the run where they will attempt to dust bathe...
Oh, it's just gorgeous. Thank you for sharing! Do you use hemp bedding for deep litter? How many full grown chickens? Seems 12" roisting space per hen is about right? Or would you suggest 10"?
🐤 one week old chicks...hatchery said to ensure there is always food, which we've done. Wondering when to switch to mealtimes? What has worked for you? No mama hen with them. Thanks in advance.
