We were supposed to have 10 GC hens. BUT I have some that the tail feathers point down and some that are straight up like a cockerel! I have read that GC cockerel will be white except shoulder! What is this one?

So I thought they would be happy in their bigger coop - out of box (24). They’ve been in almost an hour and haven’t calmed down - peep up a storm. They are about 9 weeks old. Is this normal? Adjusting?

We will have 2 runs w one an electric fence. Do the chickens pass out when they touch, get shocked? 😬

When it’s suggested to supplement w extra calcium for heavy layers what do you use? Washed, crushed egg shells?

Has anyone used baskets for nesting boxes? Dh will build shelves w dividers but I have a lot of these cheap baskets and w straw, maybe? What do yall think? May be easier to clean? Using baskets as make shift tractor. 20 hens/4 straight run
