Growing up I was told not to use seeds of fruits etc bc you will not get what you want. Most have been grafted and was told not a great plant- just buy the seeds you want.
Anyone else told this growing up?
I was told by wise old aunt not to plant till Good Friday (my zone is 8a/b).
Of course I started some early in pots. I was running out covering too bc of frosts!
She is right for in ground. She was more reliable than the forecasters

TSC said to start introducing the layer feed at 8-10 weeks as the golden comet could start laying as early as 3 months.

Trying to give extra treats to hurry it up but that’s not happening as fast I would like.
They have starter food and I’ve been adding the layer to it, so can transition easier
My Roma’s needed more calcium so I got to crushing! It’s raining but put on poncho and went out anyway to treat tomatoes and check on chickens.
I had to switch to bigger basket and I just know I missed a cucumber!
We have a golden comet who can fly up and through the electric fence! I keep...
I don’t have an automatic door but when I transferred my 24 from their box, I had to put them up. There’s still a couple that don’t want to go in!
So, I’m following to see advice too.

We have 8 week old Golden Comets that keep flying out the upper part of electric fence.
Is it too early to clip her wings? How do I do that? Is just 1 wing enough?
I was hoping they would get bigger faster but they’ve figured out the upper part has bigger holes! 😑
