Hi!! One year chicken Momma... one of my four Orpingtons has laid 2 very small eggs. One last week and another today. She seems normal in every other ways. Is this something to be concerned about? She is the smallest of the four hens...always has been somewhat little compared to her big sisters...

Official BYC Poll: How Often Do You Clean Your Coop?

Clean the coop area...where they nest at nite every morning. Then the go down to the floor area that I pick up daily and change pine shavings weekly. From there they can go out into an outdoor net covered run that I pick up twice a day. Very simple but only have 4 hens.

My 9 month old pullet is showing signs of yellowish pigment on( cheeks) and feet?

That may be similar to what I read...she has had a grayish tone like the rest of them until this. It is not something someone else would notice. It is subtle...but not like she has been. Discussed with the local vet that treats chickens and he said it could be the scrambled eggs, etc. so I have...

My 9 month old pullet is showing signs of yellowish pigment on( cheeks) and feet?

Thanks Heather. Yes I do. I only have 4 and raised from day old. I have not wormed them so I suppose that could be a possibility. They free range in our fenced yard and coop at nite. I do know that they could still have worms.

Eyes are normal..no squishy...i thought of liver? Feels fine. She’s eating same as other three. But, they have gotten sweet potatoe (baked no skin) and some scrambled eggs. However, I’ve done this since they were 4-5 months old...for treat. Maybe she’s had too much?
