WOW! That's some beautiful black gold. This fall I am going to rototill my garden area and hopefully I can get it completely fenced and I will be locked, loaded and ready to plant my spring garden.
To be a bit more thorough on my response to the dehydration, if you go outside and sweat you need to replace not just your water however it's also important to replace your salt. My stomach was cramping like way out of the normal. At the time I was going through menopause so it wasn't that. I...
Happy to hear. The salt is what makes the chips work. Dehydration is something that I always end up with during the summer so I have to have chips on hand. I drank 113.8 oz of water yesterday and still had to get a bag of chips.
@Liz Birdlover , I don't know that it will help you however when I start feeling the way you describe I get a bag of Lays Classic potato chips and drink about 20 oz of water. It's the best thing for me when it's too hot. The hives can be remedied with Benadryl unless you don't take pills. This...
I have planted corn, cucumber, tomatoes, green beans, Lima beans, okra, beets, endive, potatoes, strawberry, cilantro, ground cherry, purple and green cabbage, spinach, Swiss Chard, onion, pumpkin, peppers, watermelon, cantaloupe, zucchini, yellow and crook neck squash, and sweet potatoes
Have gotten most of my seeds planted but it's hot and our water is being an aggravating pain in the back side. I now have 2 blueberry bushes. When I bought the 2nd one I also bought 3 bags of potting soil and the lady at the nursery gave me some free tomato and watermelon plants. I got 3 of 4...
I have a bunch of little bugs that kinda resemble a baby grasshopper but without the legs,(little jerks bite), and also there's some white butterflies I think are eating mine too.
In CA I don't think a flame thrower would be a good idea due to the drought but I am still trying to figure out how to get rid of the weeds without chemicals. I haven't tried to save zinnia seeds but I don't have a problem growing them, of course that could be the zone I am in.
My husband asked me to buy some Roundup for weeds. I will find a better way to get rid of them than using a chemical that causes some severe illness. I'm thinking that maybe if I can get some really strong vinegar and drown them in it, win win for me.
That's a great idea. I need to try this for my garden especially since I am going organic only. I don't want chemicals and toxins in or around my food.
I just read an article that states that you can pour vinegar in the the hole and it will cause the ants to get confused and they won't be able to find food.
I have been dealing with a large number of ants also. I have found them in my potted plants, garden and all over the yard. I'm going to try the vinegar down the hole but for the garden and pots I will use grits. I know people think I'm crazy but they work for me. My oldest daughter had been...
