UPDATE: As of January 12, 2024, this hen has FINALLY started laying. I found her medium-sized light blue egg in the nest box. She is nearly 10 months old. Pretty crazy how long it took her.

She’s not friendly anymore so I don’t think I’m gonna check her butt. Think I’ll just wait it out until the spring to see if she starts laying. Thanks!

Yeah, I’m not doing the wrap anymore. The tape seems to be keeping it covered. I’m gonna take it off this morning and try to clean again. I don’t have antibiotics. I think I’m going to try a colloidal silver spray. And keep gauze taped on until it scabs.

My friend and I are trying to figure out if we got extra roosters because these barnyard mixes of the same age have different features. The one obvious rooster in her bunch is big comb, big wattle, big crow. But some of these other ones are looking suspect. What do you think about this grey one...

I do not know what kind of chicken this is. Please help. It’s small and a cream color with tan on its wings and back. I would describe the feathers as kind of lacy. It is more timid then the other chickens but very sweet and the easiest to hold. This chicken is much smaller compared to my others...
