If they are Black Sex Links and Blue Rocks (also sex links), then you can be somewhat confident they are pullets, as they have no obvious headspots. Males of these crosses would have a headspot at this age, indicating that they will be barred once they feather in. Females will have no barring...
2 today, from Juin and Juillet.
Another shared nest box moment, but I ended up pulling Juin out when Juillet stood up to show me triumphantly that she had stolen Juin’s egg to sit on. Juillet would not stop pecking her, not enough to draw blood, but enough to make her squeak in protest, and...
3 today :)
Juin and Juillet were both in the favored nest box together, like a good big and little sister. It’s nice to see them sharing, but I imagine little Juin was having to sit very still and squinty in order to not get pecked by giant Juillet, who really hates when others invade her...
3 today!

2 today, from Juin and Août.
Juillet tried to lay her egg late in the day, but I guess it just wasn’t time. I’m expecting another two-toned egg in the morning from her, but we’ll see.
2 today, from Juillet and Juin.
The girls had a bit of a free for all right before bed. Août found a skink in their run and fly tackled it, and then the other two quickly joined the fray. Poor thing was quite tossed about, lost its tail and a back leg, but I managed to get Juin to drop it in...
