Lol definitely not too young for that reference! The kid in the phone is my 19 year old son 😂
I’m glad you shared your thread! I’ve been searching all over for pictures of Sapphire Sky chickens and how to sex them. I do have a darker colored one with the same top hat feathers, but I do t have...
I am suppose to have three Sapphire Sky, but I bought them at Tractor Supply so who knows lol. Here’s a pic of one of them at 5 weeks. They have a cute top hat look
Any updates? I’d love to see their growth now! I have three Sapphire Sky chicks and I can’t find any pictures of them from actual people!! Every time I search, they come up computerized pictures or Sapphire Gems!
Also, Sapphire Sky lay brown to olive eggs. So she might be the Oliver Egger? Or...
Just had to come back and update. The sick chick is now 9 weeks old, and she is such a rambunctious troublemaker!! We named her Angel when she got sick, but she’s far from an Angel now!! She is first to jump out of the brooder box, first to push the other chicks out of her way when outside...
What breed did you say 2 and 4 are? I have a bird that looks a bit similar and it’s suppose to be an Amerucana/Easter Egger.
Also, your guesses seem to really be spot on! I wish mine were that easy, but time will tell.
I love this stage. With the feathers all patchy and growing in. They look so funny and cute! I have 10 chicks and I’m going through the guessing game as well! It’s so stressful but fun to question your own guesses on your birds.
I agree with all pullets, but EEs and chicks in general are pretty tricky to tell! I’ve seen EEs that you would swear are hens and then they start crowing! 😂 Wings look body length and tail feathers coming in is my generalization for pullets. Cockerels usually have shorter stubby wing feathers...
Not in any way an expert, but if I had to guess, I’d say hen. The wings are pretty long, like body length, and already getting tail feathers too. I mean, they can trick ya but I’d say hen if you wanted a guess 😂😂
Thank you!! I hope you’re right. I already have a full grown rooster that is the meanest rooster anyone that’s seen him has ever met. I reeeeally don’t want another one to hang up with him and plot my demise when I’m feeding them or checking for eggs 😂
I got this bird as a replacement for one dying at a feed store. On the outside, there were two labels, Sapphire Splash or Easter Egger but the inside label had “Blue Bell” written in marker over the barrel. It was much bigger than my other chicks, but I wanted a variety flock so I picked this...
I think she is going to make it! I gave her electrolytes and probiotics and kept waking her up every time she would start to fall over. She’s a tiny bit smaller than a chicken from the same bunch (only got two white leghorns) but she’s just fine and thriving!! Thank goodness!!
Hi, chicken lovers. I’m new to the forum and love reading posts. But now I’m needing help with a chick I bought from Rural King. I’ll add my chicken back story at the end. My main problem is randomly my one month old white leghorn is very lethargic and wants to die. I’ve tried the sugar water...
I was looking at the same too!! I have a chick that kinda looks similar, and is suppose to be an Amerucauna, but you can’t even tell with feed stores! Here’s my chickie at around 1-2 weeks old.
