Maybe so but I just don't need the negativity if they really read the thread they would have known right from the start I know about the lethal Gene, my male and female crescents aren't even bothering with each other so we have one crescent duck breeding with a bunch of non crescent ducks. And I...
I have already posted this but I think I posted it at the wrong spot. I have some crescent ducks. Two females and a male the females and male are not really hanging out which I'm okay with from what I've read. And
Yes I did ask about the odds. So I'm curious how do you think I should do. Go to...
Actually no that is not why I made this thread. I made this thread to find out the odds. My parents own the ducks. Why I'm even explaining myself to a COMPLETE STRANGER who clearly reads something and decides what I'm doing and asking and WHY I'm asking. I didn't ask anything's about controlling...
Yes you are correct there is no skull but there is actually a buildup of fatty tissues I'm not saying that it makes them super strong but it's like people are making it sound like there's absolutely nothing on that head but skin when there is a bunch of buildup of fat protecting that open skull
You know when I found this website I really thought this was like a mature grown up place where people didn't put people down or try to make them feel bad but boy was I wrong but I'm not going to feel bad because you're talking to me like I'm the only person doing this and my ducks are free...
Exactly my thoughts and yes it's a lot of people thinking don't do it. But they are around and that's because it does work. And your also right ducks do pass in pretty much every clutch we do, so why is it so bad over the crested?
My Dad thinks if the duck can't break out then it's weak. Is this true? Cant other things play a factor? Like being too big for egg, shrink wrapping, maybe other things too, genetics, just how the cookie is going to crumble. He also thinks that the duck should be moving within 5 minutes of being...
I have a Cayuga duck female that has went missing today. This is not the norm for her, so I am a bit worried. I am wondering where do they like to make their nest? Near the pond away from pond, in the tree line, on hills, under trees, away from everyone?
I'm just hoping she's sitting on a nest...
I have already posted this but I think I posted it at the wrong spot. I have some crescent ducks. Two females and a male the females and male are not really hanging out which I'm okay with from what I've read. And I know about the lethal Gene where I'm confused is if it's just one crested parent...
My name is Jade I'm 37 years old I'm new to laying duck eggs. I've done my first batch I had a success rate of 50% on Rouens. I do have some crested eggs I'm pretty sure it's only the mom that's crescent. So my question is if it's only one crescent parent can the gene double that way? Or do I...
