This morning when I let my chickens out of their run, I noticed one of my most active chickens, Babygirl, stayed behind in a corner of her coop. I opened it up and started talking to her, when she started squeaking helplessly and looked at me— one of her eyes wasn’t open. She seemed very scared...
The coop itself is 4ft / 3ft and I took out the nesting boxes because they don’t use them yet to provide more room. Run is 7ft by 3ft at the moment, but I let them out around 6am every morning to free range until 8:30pm or nightfall.

I really don’t want to cull my girls— but I’m struggling to find a solution. As of now, their coop is temporary, and they only go in at night when it gets dark. I’m in the process of building a much larger coop with a run, but they are almost never inside it except for nighttime. They’ll be...
Thank you so much— I really didn’t want to cull them. I’m so glad there’s another solution… I’m really new to this chicken thing so I’m so glad I have a community to help!
I adore my flock, but I’m only allowed to keep a certain number of chickens. I wanted to begin to add more variety in my egg production, but I decided that I will let the other five expire on their own time. :)
Hey, guys. I currently have six chickens, and I was planning to cull five of them. I wanted to keep the one that was most like a pet to me, but add in other chickens for variety. I was thinking about raising baby chickens for six weeks until they’re old enough to go outside, and then cull the...
I love my chickens and they’re pretty friendly, but I was just curious on what your guys’s experience with friendly chickens were. What breeds have you found to be the most sweet and friendly?
Just curious on how your guys’s chickens show affection to you (if at all). I have SGEs and they are very friendly with me and love attention and to perch on me.
I bought it off of Amazon for like… 8$? At first, I had to have my boyfriend hold them still so I could get it on, but they eventually got used to it. I didn’t force them into and I just kind of slowly got them used to walking with me. They realized they loved all the attention they got from...
I like singing or playing music when I’m doing my chicken chores, and one thing I noticed is that they react to certain artists and songs. Some they don’t even bat an eye to, but others, they rush around my phone and get all weird around it. The ones I’ve noticed my chickens doing this to are...
Thank you! No, it’s so much fun taking them on those walks… I take two at a time. Gives me my “scary dog privileges” so I can walk at night and people want NOTHING to do with me and my chickens. 😂 I’ve had people cross the road to get to the other side…
