This one is turning out to be a challenge. I felt with the very distinct, graphic shapes, this ought to have some ruler quilting/dot-to-dot. I have a difficult time with ruler work, never comes out the way I envision. But, I'm committed now and I'm taking what Angela Walters says to heart-if you...

okay the round after the medallion part is not put together, just laid out so use your imagination. I still need to make two more Chevron blocks on this round (hope it's not hard to see sitting on this star quilt, and the chevrons in this color may be a bit too much). After I get all these...

I saw that awhile back. Amazing the mysteries of common items. I'm piecing a quilt now on my Janome 8200. Makes my Juki look like absolute junk, though, to be fair my Juki has an MSRP around $1200 or so but the Janome an MSRP of around $2000-2500, depending on where you find the information...

Love that....quilting roomba. The only thing I could think of was a stitch regulator, but seems that's what they'd call it, if it was that. ADDING: Found this... The PC Quilter (PCQ) is a quilting robot. It replaces/augments the free-motion carriage on your machine quilting frame...

I have no idea what that is. Maybe someone else will know.

It's actually too much machine for what I do, but this is one of the more affordable offerings for quilting, I think. I sold my other because I could not find anyone to service it and being computerized, it was only a matter of time before it needed it. Now, I have two repair guys who do Janome...

Thanks so much @Ninjasquirrel. I call myself a recovering perfectionist, as you can imagine. I have some good news, though...I bought a machine for the best price ever. I had my eye on the Janome Horizon Memory Craft 8200QCP, pretty much the same as the older 7700 I had, but with an improved...

Thanks for the compliment. It looks fine from a distance, but you can tell where I became frustrated and had machine issues, but she is DONE! I would love to have the new Grace Company Little Rebel, but it's about $2600 now and not on the second hand market yet.

No, it's not near me. I got your PM and answered, but had to turn off my ad blockers. Never had to do that! That quilt made me pull out what was left of my hair, lemme tell ya. It was mostly machine issues on two different machines.

Strange that you ask now. My last machine is up for sale. I just finished a large lap quilt that took two different machines and hours of troubleshooting to get done and I put the machine on the market. I may get another one day, but it will have to be a better one than I had. I see the message...

Okay, this Janome 6500 doesn't love any of my high quality poly threads, my Isacord or my Glide, apparently. At first, I thought something was wrong with the bobbin case, but it looks new. When I lower the needle to catch the bobbin thread to bring it to the top, it will just catch and hang up...

You won't believe this. I have really great news! I have a new machine now AND my Juki is fixed! The repair called me this morning, still in business after all these years since I kept his card from a now-closed down quilt shop! He is certified in Janome, Babylock and Brother, but works on Juki...

I finally found two articles after much searching that said this needle should be put in w/flat side to the rear, though it was not mentioned in most places talking about needle replacement or even in the stupid manual. I did that and now, it free motions without nesting on the back or thread...

Before I crash, I did find that something simple was incorrect. I had the flat side of the needle in the machine facing forward and it's supposed to go backward so I changed it around and will try sewing with it in the morning. The feed dogs are either now disconnected or broken, but at least...

I'll get back to trying to figure it out tomorrow. I can't piece, but I only wanted to free motion anyway right now. Thanks for your input!

At first, when I began free motion, it looked okay on front but was nesting on the back. And yes, new chrome topstitch needle, newly wound bobbin, checked how I threaded it, full small cone of Isacord thread top and in bobbin. It began to not pull up the bobbin thread to the top, then when it...

Hey, machine experts, what am I doing wrong? I can't make this machine keep the bobbin thread going. I can get it to pick it up after a couple of tries, then it sews without it. This is free motion, not regular stitching, which worked fine...until the feed dogs then refused to come back up...

HELP! I am trying to purchase a ruler foot for my Juki HZL G220 without paying a whopping $50 for a genuine Juki part, but I've had two sellers sell me a foot that when I put it on my machine and lower the presser foot, it sits directly on the plate, no way to adjust (the second seller showed a...

@fisherlady nice to see an old friend again! Sorry about your old career, but best of luck with your new one! I've turned 66 and am doing well, in great health, but my husband is a disabled veteran and his joint issues have progressed tremendously, making keeping this homestead going much more...
