Put the functionality on the inside where it helps you tend the chickens. Put the cute on the outside where you can see it. I guarantee, the chickens won't notice it anyway.
Yesterday was a gift from Mother Nature. Sunny more than expected, warmer than expected, and more productive outside than expected.
Rain, possibly some snow, in the forecast. Then it gets nicer.
I should do all the "indoor projects" today/tomorrow/Thursday. I think I'll start with a nap.
Oh, your question is certainly NOT stupid. It shows that you're thinking about how to make a good coop.
Nobody was born knowing this stuff, and we all had to learn and ask questions. So ask any questions you need to. :)
Welcome, @Mantascon! What is your subfloor made of?
Ideally, you would cover it with something waterproof. A lot of people use sheet vinyl flooring; sometimes you can get a leftover piece very cheaply. Some people have used a product called Blackjack 57, which is a coating that seals the...
Glad you didn't have any flooding at your house.
We're on a river too, but it's about 80-90 feet below us. We had a "100 year flood" a few years ago, but had no issues here. A lot of people were not as lucky.

I make bone broth. I haven't had a carcass to use for that since last Thanksgiving!
Hubby hates the smell, so I'll be doing it sometime when he's gone. Right now, the only days on the horizon aren't until January. So I'll mash the bones into a smaller space and store them in the freezer.
Go to...
I wish I could get some of the holiday cooking done today. Well, I could make the cranberry. And I guess I could make the sweet potato un-pie.
🤔
I'm making a second loaf of GF bread to use for making the stuffing; I'm going to get the bread cubes cut and toasted too.
Yup! Red oilcloth, with some newspapers inside. Then sewed (whipstitch) together with dark blue yarn. We might have punched holes through the oil cloth, as it would have been difficult to sew through.
Ok, so it looked like a 9 year old made it. But it worked. :gig
Right now, I'm using an empty...
