they came in as eggs :D I don't think it would work otherwise. The youngsters assume one of the older roos is their sire, as the older roos assume the young roos are their offspring. The grand-daddy of the flock has been pushed to the margins, and the dom will be challenged sooner or later, but...

They haven't here. We have five, all raised within the flock (though not all genetically related, as two were hatching eggs bought in) so the older roos think they're offspring. They work as a team, most of the time.

they hatched on 1 July - this is them @ 1 week (5 of them; the chipmunk and the crested each have a different mum). Juvenile plumage is coming through but it's not obvious what the adult plumage will be as yet.
