My sweet potato pies have a brown sugar/toasted pecan layer. The spices are milder and I add a little ground ginger and nutmeg....a naturally sweeter taste. Pumpkin pie has a totally different flavor with cinnamon, allspice, and clove. I use molasses too.

Long day today. Spent many hours pulling nails from recovered lumber from the demo of my kitchen cabinets. The chicken coops need a few necessary repair/improvements. We have a poultry show Dec 12 so I’m conditioning 17 for show. Temperatures last night were freezing and will be again...
