You didn't kill him. :hugs
I don't know why their heads tuck like that. All of the birds I've had die of heat stress were all bent up the same way.
The most significant solutions I've found to my heat problem: only buying heat tolerant birds, and massively increasing the ventilation in my coop.
I agree, looks like it was the heat. Sorry. :hugs
The purple comb is pretty normal after death. A purple comb before death would indicate poor circulation, such as a heart or lung problem.
For what it's worth, providing misters in my run made the heat stress worse on my birds. It's already so...
That's the thing—she does nothing wrong. She just acts guilty and sulky all day long for no reason.
Moody, moody, moody.
Hubby says it's my comeuppance. 🙃
I'm soaked to the bone!
There was a couple of big booms that made him pause—nothing more chicken couldn't fix. Now he's running around like a crazed feral piglet.
I got him to potty in the rain! We look like a couple of drowned rats! WORTH IT!
It's raining chicken!!! RAIN IS FUN!!!
Yup... I'm losing it.
Time for a hot bath. 🥶😂
Perfect time to mould more impressionable minds.
Gust of wind? Chicken. Rain flurry? Chicken. Thunder crack? Chicken.
He is now looking at me for chicken with every boom. Mission accomplished.
:woot
@R2elk I found toad poop on the patio today. 🥰 well, Chester found toad poop and I found it in his mouth.
I haven't seen the new resident yet but I hope he's here to stay.
That's her default expression. She is constantly skulking around giving me these huge watery eyes like she thinks she's going to get in trouble for something (or everything).
Honestly it's very annoying. 😑
