Sorry to hear the chicks didn’t survive the transport. :hugsBuying locally and picking the up is probably the best you can do. If you like another breed than the ones at TS you could try Craigslist or similar too. BTW in my country it’s not allowed to ship chicks.

Thank you. Kraai is a Dutch speckled bantam (a mix, not standard colouring and weighs more than would be allowed too). A girl that had to move elsewhere with her parents gave her to me. She’s probably 5 almost 6 years old now.

I know it's early but....Who's ready for 2024 Baby Chicks!

Bought 6 bantam Sumtaler eggs yesterday from the mistress of this flock. Picked the eggs up myself for my broody Kraai. A 40 minutes drive in busy traffic. Tonight I want to replace the fake eggs with the hatchery eggs. 🪺

Special delivery is allowed here too. The shops/suppliers just don’t as far as I now. Never seen one advertising with delivery. Delivery by a mail company through a distribution center is not allowed. Except for the dead male chicks (feed) and easter decorations.

In Europe you can’t order chicks. But I prefer buying hatching eggs for a broody anyway. I plan to get in contact with someone who sells bantam speckled sussex eggs. I have an address of a breeder about 15 km from where I live.
