I hope to get araucana eggs next week! I want tufted araucanas and everyone here I know have clean faced. a friend of mine went to bulgaria and ordered some eggs from there. I hope they are available now.
btw clean face araucanas have better hatching rate. if both hen and roo have thick tufts...
a friend of mine trimmed their around butt feathers as he got infertile eggs. otherwise their eggs are just like any other breed's eggs. if you have both males and females tufted expect up to 25% DIS.
our first frost this winter. I hope it will be the last as well.
no araucanas at the moment. I do miss them. when I get all the things done I probably will get them again. but I need to fence an area for each breed. araucanas are great foragers.
I am finally selling my house and will move to the country. I have recently bought an araucana hen from the feed store. the guy didn't know what she is and sold her for 5 eur:lau
I have ordered a few araucanas. the eggs are still in incubator. hoping for a tufted cockerel.
those feathers don't grow from the part where tail bone would be. not sure if that is called partially tailed. I see some side feathers.
I hope someone who knows better will chime in.
I am not an expert but this looks like bad rumpless to me. the tail bone is completely missing. I had a partially rumpless araucana mix. she had a 3-4 feathers tail (a tail bone partially developed).
